Rachel Dawes is the childhood friend of Bruce Wayne. Idealistic and driven, she grew up to become the district assistant attorney for Gotham City at a young age. She went to law school and as such, she wields the weapon of the law when it comes to taking on the city's corruption. She fully believes that saving Gotham is possible as long as they work toward it, and she's unrelentingly making sure criminals don't take over the city she loves. She works toward justice molded by compassion. [veering off canon] In July of 2009, she fell through a Rift on her way to the courthouse--ending up in a completely different world than the one she knows, in an alternate version of Chicago where angels and demons wage century-old wars. There's no way to go back to Gotham. People that fall through the Rift like her are called Wanderers. Whether she is in Gotham or not, she is still defined by her idealism and her moral compass and fights for the same causes. She's unbending when it comes to her convictions and she is committed to her job, unwilling to let corruption and violence take over the city finds herself in. |
